Cherokee Uniforms announced the winners of its 2004 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award. Susan Fleming, RN, Spokane, Wash., won the grand prize for RNs. Lt. Charles Dickerson, NC, USNR, Yokosuka, Japan, took home the top national prize.


Other national winners include Jeanne Rorke, RN,C, NNP, MSN, Washington, D.C.; Mary McRae, CCRN, MSN, Lewiston, Maine; Gaynell Stone, RN, OCN, Raleigh, N.C.; Karen Ulmer, RN, Baltimore, Md.; Nomiki Vorgias, RN, Munster, Ind.; and Robert Wilkinson, RN, Louisville, Ky.


Divina Grossman, RN, ARNP, PhD, FAAN, dean of the School of Nursing at Florida International University, Miami, Fla., received the 2004 Jessie Trice Heroes Award from Health Choice Network.


Faith Jones, RN, CCP, BSN, director of patient care services at Powell Valley Healthcare, received the 2004 Leadership in Nursing Award from the Wyoming Nurses Association.

Nursefinders, Inc. named Judy C. Jones, BSN, MSN, its clinical director of workforce development for iNsite Workforce Solutions.


Garry M. Olney, RN, BSN, MBA, received a promotion to vice president of nursing and clinical operations at Tenet Healthcare Corporation.


The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association honored area nurses for their contributions to nursing. Margarete Lieb Zalon, RN, APRN, BC, PhD, Waymart, Pa., won the Distinguished Nurse Award. Cynthia Glawe Mailloux, RN, PhD, Glen Summit, Pa., received the Nursing Research Award.


Patricia J. Hefner, RN,C, Wexford, Pa., won the Mary Anne Arty Legislative Award. Mary (Molly) Sebastian, CCRN, MSN, Emmaus, Pa., won the Administrative-Management Award.


Also, Ann M. Mitchell, RN, PhD, Pittsburgh, Pa., won the Nurse as Global Citizen Award. Michele P. Campbell, RNC, MSN, Harrisburg, Pa., received the Kathryn J. Grove Advocacy Award. Michele August-Brady, RN, DNS, Bethlehem, Pa., won the Nursing Education Award.
