Abstract

Abstract: Learner self-assessment and accountability are important features in nursing education. Innovative competency sessions enhance the delivery of quality care. This project investigated the addition of video into established competency evaluations for the purpose of learner review and self-evaluation. An experimental design was used to determine the effects of video on learner self-evaluation. With 95 percent confidence, the mean total self-evaluation score for those without the video was higher than for those with the video, supporting the hypothesis that those without video recall would inflate their self-evaluation scores.
