Abstract

Abstract: A prelicensure associate degree nursing program identified the need to formally validate clinical skills and decision-making within nursing students across the program and implemented a process using high-fidelity simulation. The simulated experiences provided an opportunity for both formative and summative evaluation while also affording an opportunity to level student performance across the program. Faculty reported improved consistency in their expectations of student performance within each nursing course, and students reported improved confidence in their clinical practice skills.
