Complying with the requirements of accreditation is essential in a school of nursing. One way to meet the demands of accreditation is to develop an Accreditation Station. Using a system such as this includes more than creating a shared drive to store documents. Accreditation Station is an organizational system developed through the school of nursing's learning management system. This system is created similar to an online course and houses all important accreditation information in one central location. Relevant information, dropboxes, discussion boards, and announcement areas are organized in one place. Individual dropboxes are created to notify faculty of specific artifacts required for each course. The collaborative process also assists in notifying novice faculty about expectations of the accreditation process. Discussion boards are created to provide a place to discuss departmental questions about accreditation and requirements. A new course shell can be copied each year to store each academic year's required documents for accreditation. Accreditation Station serves to increase faculty knowledge, organization, accountability, and ease regarding accreditation demands.
