A ware of the statistics concerning racially related health disparities for premature infants, NANN is dedicated to intentionally and thoughtfully including health and racial equity as an organizational strategic pillar.

NANN has created a webpage specific to health and racial equity. Here you can find NANN's resources on racial disparities in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the recorded presentation from NANN's 2020 conference focused on health equity and cultural competency in the NICU, external resources on the topic, and new additions related to this strategic imperative.

Visit http://nann.org/equity regularly to learn what NANN is doing and what you can do to promote health and racial equity in the NICU and beyond.

NOW AVAILABLE: NANN'S SAFE SLEEP DECK

NANN, with the support of Pampers, a member of the P&G family, has developed an Infant Safe Sleep Prompt Deck as part of the Pamper's Safe Sleep Initiative. This educational tool serves as a reinforcement of NANN's Safe Sleep Guideline. Designed to be used by neonatal nurses with caregivers, it outlines the important elements of following the Safe Sleep Guideline in practice. A copy of the prompt deck was mailed to each of the 1100 NANN Virtual Live attendees with a letter from NANN president, Gail Bagwell, DNP, APRN, CNS. The prompt deck is also available for purchase in the NANN Store.

As a reminder, the Safe Sleep conference recording, supported by Pampers, is available to NANN members and nonmembers in the NANN Store for free CNE. To access the symposium and other safe sleep resources, visit http://nann.org/sleep.
