APWCA

New regional districts. The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) has formed 4 regional districts, each of which will have 4 APWCA members serving as officers: president, vice president of membership, vice president for meeting planning, and secretary. At least 2 of the 4 representatives from each regional district will attend the APWCA National Conference in the spring and meet as the APWCA House of Representatives.

Forming the regional districts allows APWCA to have improved grassroots contact with its growing membership. In addition, regional concerns on reimbursement, insurance policies, treatment protocols, and other similar issues will be better addressed at the local level to take into account geographic differences in practice. Each regional district may also organize annual or biannual seminars to facilitate interaction among the members.

More information on the leadership of the regional districts will be available in a future issue of Advances in Skin & Wound Care.
