The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) has scheduled its fifth national clinical conference, "Wound Care and the Related Sciences," for April 6-9, 2006, at the Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza, Philadelphia, PA.

Among the more than 40 faculty members set to lecture at the conference are world opinion leaders in wound care from the United States, Canada, England, and India, who will provide a global overview of wound care and how it relates to clinical care in the United States. In one session, for example, faculty will debate approaches to infection and osteomyelitis in the United States, Canada, Europe, and emerging countries. The session will focus on the various differences in the treatment protocols and the related outcomes. This will allow attendees to step out of the box and see what can be learned from others.

The conference will offer a maximum of 28 hours of continuing education credit. Preconference courses will be available on Thursday, April 6, and for the first time, a postconference course will be held on Sunday, April 9.
