There is great news for all NAON members who would like to access past and current articles from Orthopaedic Nursing from virtually anywhere. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, in conjunction with NAON, has created a Web link for all NAON members to be able to view manuscripts from previous issues of Orthopaedic Nursing beginning with volume year 2003. This is an exciting new benefit for NAON.

There are two ways for you to access Orthopaedic Nursing online. You may go to NAON's Web site at http://www.orthonurse.org and enter the member's only section by selecting the tab in the upper right corner. You will need to log in as a member using your member number. Your member number may be found on your NAON membership card. If you do not have it, there is an option for you to fill in an online form so that your number can be sent to you. Once you are logged in as a member, you will find instructions and a link to Orthopaedic Nursing online.

Knowing your membership number is important not only for this purpose but also to participate in other activities that are located in the members-only section of the Web site. In addition, as some found out earlier this year, your member number was also required to cast an online vote for the elected officials of NAON. It is important for you to obtain and keep your NAON member number so that you will be able to fully participate in our organization.

You may also access the members-only site by going to the Orthopaedic Nursing journal site at http://www.orthopaedicnursing.com and selecting the link in the discussion about online Orthopaedic Nursing journal, which will take you to the members-only section of the NAON Web site.

This is an important member benefit that few other nursing specialty journals are able to give their members. This will give you access to past articles from work, school, or most anywhere there is an Internet connection. It will allow you to refresh your memory on particular patient care questions that you may have seen answered in an Orthopaedic Nursing article or possibly developing a follow-up research study similar to one you have read in the past. The possibilities are endless. Let us know what you think!!
