In July 2021, one of JANAC's associate editors, Carl Kirton, DNP, MBA, RN, was appointed the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Nursing (AJN). Although we were sad to have Dr. Kirton step away from the JANAC editorial board and leadership team, we were thrilled that he would be taking over the leadership of AJN. With his departure, we initiated a search to fill his associate editor vacancy.

I am pleased to announce that not only have we added a new associate editor to the JANAC Editorial Leadership Team, but we have also added two new assistant editors. This expansion aligns with two of JANAC's core values-involvement and inclusion. Our involvement core value includes a focus of having domestic (U.S.) and international representation on the editorial board. The inclusion core value includes a commitment to mentoring the next generation of authors, reviewers, and editorial leaders. With these values in mind, three individuals join the JANAC Editorial Leadership Team in 2022.
