Zheijing Medical University and the Professional Health Seminar are cosponsoring "Health Care and Culture" Research Symposium to be held at Hangzhou, China, on May 18 to 28, 2007, to explore the art of caring in the world of high technology.

 

Research, case studies, and clinical articles broadly defined, including articles in cross-cultural perspectives, are welcome. Those who are interested in presenting their articles should submit a 150- to 200-word abstract by e-mail to Dr Janet F. Wang by January 15, 2007.

 

Abstracts will be selected for presentation at the symposium to be held on Monday, May 21, 2007. More than 150 Chinese nurses are expected to attend the symposium. A team of bilingual translators will be available to assist the presenters.

 

Workshops may be scheduled for American participants to learn traditional Chinese healthcare techniques such as acupuncture, therapeutic massage, qigong, herbal medicine, and cupping. Participants will visit tour attractions in Beijing, such as the famous Tiananmen Square, the Palace Museum, the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Tiantan, the Summer Palace, and selected attractions in Shanghai and Suzhou.
