INDIANAPOLIS-The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, is accepting entries for its 2007 International Awards for Nursing Excellence. Entries are due March 1, 2007. The honor society will present the 2007 International Awards for Nursing Excellence at its 39th biennial convention, November 2-7, 2007, in Baltimore, Md.

 

The International Awards for Nursing Excellence honor outstanding nursing achievements in numerous categories, including clinical scholarship, chapter development, research, technology, healthcare informatics, and the health and welfare of children. The awards also recognize exceptional print and electronic media.

 

The honor society is introducing a new award category for 2007-the Chapter Communication Award, to acknowledge outstanding chapter communications and publicity.

 

"It is important to recognize the creativity and hard work of our chapters that communicate effectively with chapter members, campus community and local community to improve nursing scholarship, leadership and practice," said Nancy Dickenson-Hazard, RN, MSN, FAAN, honor society chief executive officer.

 

Criteria and submission guidelines for all awards are available on the 2007 International Awards Web site at http://www.nursingsociety.org/programs. Entries must be submitted online.
