Abstract

A seminar for graduating bachelor of science in nursing students involving discussion of clinical problems was successfully offered online concurrently with their clinical placements, rather than as an in-class course after clinical experience. The author describes the model used to guide discussion, which used a WebCT platform. The Web-based seminar achieved all the objectives of the classroom course while allowing more timely consideration of the issues that students encountered in practice and more considered discussion by students.
