Abstract

Coronary artery disease is the number 1 killer of Americans. There are many efforts underway to prevent and treat this life-threatening disease. One such treatment is the placement of drug-eluting stents. However, recent reports that show an increased risk of potentially life-threatening complications associated with drug-eluting stents have surfaced. This article provides a brief overview of research performed concerning the risks of drug-eluting stents.
