The Seven Whispers A Spiritual Practice for Times Like These, Christina Baldwin. Novarto, Calif: New World Library; 2002. softcover, 119 pages, $12.95.

This is a small light book, about 5" x 7", that can easily fit in most purses or briefcases, and the author's insights do not require or exclude religion. As Richard Carlson, author of Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, puts it: "The Seven Whispers will speak softly to your soul. A beautiful book of wisdom" (back cover).

The author essentially gives us 7 directions for hearing our inner voice, be that from the Universe, ourselves, or what we believe as God. With each of the 7 directions, she gives us tips on how to practice or hear the whispers, anywhere we are.

The 7 whispers are:

Maintain peace of mind

Move at the pace of guidance

Practice certainty of purpose

Surrender to surprise

Ask for what you need and offer what you can

Love the folks in front of you

Return to the world

I would provide a few tips under each whisper but I will leave that work up to you, the reader.

Note. The 2008 AONE program offers Christina Baldwin as a preconference speaker at the annual meeting, certainly worth considering.
