[black small square] Janet S. Thomas's "Keep on Learning" (Guest Editorial, August 2008)* emphasizes that nursing education should be an annual and career-long goal. When I first discovered that my state doesn't require continuing education (CE) credits for relicensure, I was definitely surprised-and I didn't know that only a little over half of states require CEs. I truly believe that requiring annual CE credits in areas pertinent to one's practice will improve nursing care and help us update our skills.

I'd like to go to graduate school in the future. In the meantime I'll continue to take classes offered by my hospital or other nursing organizations to keep my knowledge and skills updated.
