Abstract

Pediatric practice is like no other. It has its own language, its own data requirements, and its own compliance and privacy imperatives. Traditional electronic health records (EHRs), which are designed for adult care, are insufficient for supporting efficient, effective pediatric care. This article examines the unique data needs of pediatric care and suggests ways in which a pediatric-enabled EHR could support them.
