The small intestine has been considered as a "black box" for gastroenterologists for decades. In this session, new endoscopic and radioloical imaging tools for the evaluation and treatment of small bowel diseases will be presented, including capsule endoscopy, small bowel follow through, computed tomography (CT) enterography, magnetic resonance (MR) enterography, push enteroscopy, single balloon enteroscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, and Spirus enteroscopy. Participants will also have the opportunity to gain experience with all the endoscopic tools for small bowel evaluation during the hands-on portion of the program. Animal models will be utilized for single and double balloon endoscopies during the hands-on portion of this session.
