A-SMART auto-locking carts ensure sealed drawers

Armstrong Medical's A-SMART Auto-Locking Carts feature SureSeal Drawers that close automatically once they're within approximately an inch of being shut, so that you don't need to worry if they're fully closed or if they'll lock properly. The A-SMART Auto-Locking Carts come in 17 colors and have all the quality features of an Aluminum Premier Cart except for the Slide-Thru Side Shelf. The carts also feature keyless entry, a master code for all programming, an access code for normal, daily use, and up to 250 possible user codes. The Auto-Lock Timer can be set from 1 to 998 minutes, or it can be shut off so that the cart never auto-locks, and can also be limited to master code only. The A-SMART Auto-Locking Cart is battery-operated and never needs to be plugged into an outlet; a low-battery indicator light is included. A manual key override is featured for emergency access.

Fifth-generation abdominal binder features easy grip strip

Dale Medical Products' Abdominal Binders with EasyGrip Strip are the only binders clinically shown to expedite the return of pulmonary function after open abdominal surgery by encouraging patients to ambulate sooner. Available in sizes up to 94 inches long and in widths up to 15 inches to accommodate larger patients, the Dale Binder is made entirely of an exclusive stretch material that provides full compression and perfect sizing. The latest model of Dale Binder features the new EasyGripT Strip, which can hold up to four 100-mL drainage bulbs in place, allowing for easier monitoring of drainage bulb contents and drainage bulbs to be emptied or quickly removed, without the need to remove pins or tape. Unlike binders that can restrict movement, Dale Binders promote mobility and lessen the chance of sedentary complications. The two panel Abdominal Binders can also be used as rib belts.

Laparoscopy tool takes MIS further

SurgiQuest's AnchorPort presents a real solution to some of the most common problems surgeons face when performing laparoscopy. AnchorPort's internal "anchor" prevents the cannula from pulling out during procedures, staying secure once inserted and for the duration of the procedure, with no loss of pneumo or exposure and no delays in the OR. Additionally, AnchorPort's low profile means that nothing gets in the way of reaching the target tissue, unlike the large housing on most trocars that can prevent instruments from reaching tissues. Finally, AnchorPort allows the surgeon to reach the right place the first time because it employs elastomeric technology that matches the cannula length to the thickness of the patient's abdominal wall. Thus, the cannula is never in the way of tissue the surgeon needs to reach, and it never obscures vision.

Post-op pain relief system gets patients on their feet faster

The I-Flow ON-Q PainBuster Post-Op Pain Relief System provides continuous infusion of a local anesthetic directly into the patient's surgical site for effective, nonnarcotic postoperative pain relief for up to 5 days. ON-Q can also be used for epidural applications. The product's Soaker Catheter is designed to infuse a local anesthetic over a wider area than point-source catheters. The completely portable system can be carried in a pouch or attached to patients' clothing. The ON-Q PainBuster Post-Op Pain Relief System requires little or no management or intervention by the patient or caregiver. It reduces a patient's need for narcotics and decreases the potential of breakthrough pain. It's available in 1-, 2.5-, 5-, and 10-inch infusion lengths and is perfect for postoperative relief in large incisions. There are four ON-Q pump models, including models with the ONDEMAND bolus device or Select-A-Flow adjustable-rate controller.
