August is National Immunization Awareness Month.  Controversy continues to surround the use of vaccines with regard to adherence and concerns about adverse effects. As nurses, we need to be well versed in these issues, especially those of us who work in a setting where immunizations are given frequently. While reading our journal articles (see More Resources) and visiting the CDC’s Vaccines & Immunizations site, I came across several strategies that may be helpful to you in your practice:
