Dear Colleague,

Happy New Year!

I've written my list of resolutions for 2012 – several of the same resolutions as in previous years (eat better, exercise more, and get organized) and some new ones (listen more, focus on one task at a time, as well as a few others). The start of a new year is also a good time to examine and reevaluate our career goals and search for ways to help us attain them.

I'd like to share several resources to help us all start thinking about furthering our careers and attaining our goals. First, spend some time reading the articles in our More Resources collection. Learn about putting together a career portfolio and read the stories of the career paths of several nurses. Next, peruse Lippincott's 2012 Nursing Career Directory. Here you'll find articles about certification, travel nursing, financing your education, and more. Also, if a return to school is part of your plan, be sure to check out our Education Center for Nursing!

Wishing you all a wonderful 2012!
