The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) has published, "Reimbursement and Patient Assistance Programs: A Guide for Community Cancer Centers," available in print and online at http://www.accc-cancer.org. Designed for health care providers, the guide brings together information on pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical patient assistance programs and reimbursement resources. The digital edition allows users to link directly to program information and enrollment forms.
"Community cancer centers face a reimbursement landscape that is complex and constantly changing. And with the recent economic downturn, this country is seeing a drastic increase in patients who cannot afford their anti-cancer treatments," ACCC Executive Director Christian Downs, JD, MHA, noted in a news release. "Our hope is that this guide will be a user-friendly resource that cancer center staff will refer to again and again."
