With this issue, The Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing celebrates 20 years of publication. In 1987, JPNN was the first topical, theme-based journal to include both perinatal and neonatal perspectives. Today, we continue to publish theme issues delivering in-depth coverage with the goal of improving clinical competence.
As a part of our celebration of JPNN's success, we are delighted to launch our 20th year with a new size, increased content, ongoing departments and perinatal and neonatal Continuing Education offerings in every issue. This anniversary issue includes tributes to those who have made JPNN what it is today. In particular, we appreciate JPNN's founding Editor, Diane Angelini, now Senior Perinatal Editor, whose effort, enthusiasm, and desire to continually make JPNN even better have challenged me professionally. I thank her for constantly raising the bar. I also send out my appreciation to the Neonatal Editors who have served over the years. Without their contributions, JPNN would not have the unique balance that our readers look forward to in each issue. A special thank you to Susan Bakewell-Sachs, the current Neonatal Editor. After an extensive editorial search, JPNN welcomed Susan in the beginning of 2004. She brings fresh perspectives, outstanding contributions, and professionalism to the Neonatal section. A publisher could not ask for a better team of Editors-thank you, Diane and Susan.
In this issue, we have taken the opportunity to look back and celebrate JPNN's Reviewers, Editorial Board members, Contributing Editors, Issue Editors, and Editors through the years. Thank you all for your contributions to The Journal of Perinatal & Neonatal Nursing.
