The International Council of Nurses (ICN) updates its code of ethics. The ICN, a federation of more than 130 national nursing associations, revised its code of ethics in 2012. The new code reflects the current professional emphases on positive work environments and the use of evidence-based practice. According to David Benton, chief executive officer of the ICN, the publication is "an essential tool" for nurses as they navigate challenges and face major ethical dilemmas.
