Abstract
* A new boxed warning and a new contraindication are being added to the labeling of ferumoxytol (Feraheme). The boxed warning states that there is a risk of anaphylaxis and even death with ferumoxytol infusion.
* The new contraindication to use is a previous allergic reaction to ferumoxytol or any other IV iron-replacement drug.
