Abstract
According to this study:
* Criteria developed by a multispecialty panel for the appropriate use of peripherally inserted central catheters can be used to improve the quality and safety of patient care and to inform quality improvement efforts.
* These criteria are the first to provide guidance to clinicians who are responsible for the decision to place venous catheters.
