Abstract

PURPOSE: To offer an educational experience that will help to improve the participant's understanding of the indications for various skin replacement products and how these products are used in clinical practice to manage burns and wounds.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE STATEMENT: This CME/CE activity is intended for physicians and nurses with an interest in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic wounds and burns.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

 

1. Describe the various skin replacement products.

 

2. Describe the process for selecting the appropriate skin replacement product based on clinical conditions.

 

3. Summarize the risks and benefits of the various skin replacement products.
