- The FDA has approved TachoSil, a ready-to-use biodegradable fibrin sealant patch for use in cardiovascular surgery to prevent mild and moderate bleeding from small blood vessels when standard surgical techniques are ineffective or impractical.
- The FDA has approved a new formulation of OxyContin (oxycodone) designed to discourage medication misuse and abuse. The reformulated OxyContin is intended to prevent the product from being cut, broken, chewed, crushed, or dissolved to release more medication.
