Use of epinephrine in the resuscitation of patients who suffer cardiac arrest outside of the hospital was not associated with improved outcomes, according to this study in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

Long-term use of vitamin E does not affect the risk of developing heart failure. The researchers of this study in Circulation: Heart Failure state that the "evidence to date does not support the use of vitamin E supplementation to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases."

A new study published in Hypertension found that the presence of orthostatic hypertension may be associated with heart failure risk.

Diagnosis of both hypothyriodism and inflammatory arthritis in women increases the risk of heart disease, according to a recent study in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases.
