Study proves that NPs eliminate unnecessary ED visits
A case study done by Loyola University Health System showed a particularly important role that NPs take on regularly. NPs are able to reduce hospital costs and maintain quality communication with patients after their discharge to ensure that they are not forced to return to the hospital post treatment. The study showed a significant decrease in ED visits since NPs were able and available to monitor patient needs. NPs have also been recently receiving due praise for aiding in the healthcare staff shortage crisis by providing services to a large (and growing patient/elderly population.

New research has shown that a high-fiber diet has the potential to reduce the risk for colon cancer, and may prevent the cancer better than a diet full of fruits, vegetables, and legumes. This research suggests that a high fiber diet can reduce the cancer risks up to 10%, but also noted that the risk reduction was based on how much fiber was being consumed.
