Abstract

Abstract: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a progressive and chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder that can lead to the development of neuropsychiatric syndromes, which are among the most serious complications of the disease. The neuroscience nurse will learn how to enhance the care of patients with neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) by examining a case study of a person with SLE who experienced an acute onset of vertical binocular diplopia secondary to lupus vasculitis in the brainstem.
