Thanks and kudos to Dr. George Sledge for his thought-provoking comments regarding Steve Jobs (12/10/11 issue). I believe his comments expressed what many in the medical community have-if not openly discussed, then at least thought to themselves. Steve Jobs was a wonderful computer/technological genesis who gave much to the world, but that does not excuse the situation and decisions that occurred. I feel the comments that Dr. Sledge made were difficult ones, but they were important to publish, for those of us in the medical community to read and reflect on.
Thank you Dr. Sledge for the courage to give voice to this thought-provoking situation, and to Oncology Times for publishing it. Keep up the good work!
