Abstract
The potential for serious diabetes-related problems is always present with the person with diabetes, regardless of the primary diagnosis. This article addresses specific clinical management issues of chronic and acute diabetes complications with the most current research and evidence-based home care nursing recommendations. Additionally, theAmerican Diabetes Association 2001Standards of Care for prevention and detection of complications are adapted to the home care setting.
