Good things come in small packages and this little book doesn't disappoint. Filled with stories of surprises, coincidences, and unexplainable events, these two nurse authors have published a delightful collection of end-of-life stories that will bring comfort and hope to those who are facing death, either their own or that of a loved one. The stories are about the young and the old, and are told by spouses, parents, children, other family members, and friends as well as hospice care providers, nurses, and physicians. The book is divided into themes-stories of people choosing their time to die, the final gifts they left behind, messages from heaven, the roles animals play at end-of-life, and stories of angels who lead the way. Several accounts are about perinatal and childhood deaths, while others are about deaths after long and fruitful lives. One theme they all have in common though is they remind us of the incredible gift of life; however, short or long it may have been.
