For many, the highlight of Nursing Management Congress2016 in fabulous Las Vegas was the amazing performance by Keynote Speaker Zubin Damania, MD, founder of Turntable Health. Dr. Damania delivered a powerful message on maintaining compassion in nursing through his unique musical stylings. (Watch for an upcoming profile on Dr. Damania in a future issue of the journal.)

Before the Keynote Address on November 8, we presented the Richard Hader Visionary Leader 2016 award to Dr. Bob Dent, DNP, MBA, RN, CENP, NEA-BC, FACHE, senior vice president, chief operating officer, and CNO for Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, Tex. Hackensack Meridian Health once again sponsored the award.

Attendees left the conference with revitalized practical and critical-thinking skills, new connections, and a wealth of evidence-based strategies-eager to put their new knowledge to practice as enlightened nurse leaders.

Welcome our new conference chair

After 3 years of dedicated service as chairperson, Jeffrey N. Doucette, DNP, RN, LNHA, CENP, NEA-BC, FACHE, is stepping down to pursue his new role as vice president of the Magnet Recognition Program(R) and Pathway to Excellence(R) at the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Silver Spring, Md. We wish Dr. Doucette the best in his new position. He'll remain an active member of the journal's editorial board.

Dr. Doucette has passed the torch to another talented nurse leader. Nursing Management is pleased to introduce our new conference chairperson Pamela Hunt, MSN, BS, RN, chief nursing executive at Community Health Network North Region in Indianapolis, Ind. We're thrilled to welcome Ms. Hunt aboard. Her impressive leadership experience and expertise in patient care services make her a wonderful leader of our conference planning panel and Congress2017.
