Abstract

The sport of diving is growing more popular, boasting over 10 million divers worldwide. This increased interest suggests that dive-related injuries are more likely to appear at the primary care provider's doorstep. An understanding of dive-related physiology, relevant gas laws, and the mechanism for common dive-related injuries clarifies management of these patients in the primary care setting.
