When upper management/hospitals decide to increase pay for bedside nursing, nurses will stay. When nursing schools decide that having business and managerial classes in their curricula will enhance and educate nurse managers on the unit, nurses will stay. When upper management/hospitals decide to have safe RN-to-patient ratios, nurses will stay. When upper management/hospitals decide to work with nurse leaders on the units to create logical solutions for patient care, nurses will stay. When upper management/hospitals consider employee satisfaction as important as patient satisfaction in determining the amount of government reimbursement, nurses will stay. When our country realizes, promotes, supports, and demands changes for nurses, nurses will stay.
