Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish face and content validity and measure interrater reliability of an adapted version of the Developing and Assessing Nutrition Education Handouts tool for nutrition education handouts used in the clinical nutrition setting. An expert panel of 6 registered dietitian nutritionists who work in the clinical setting established face and content validity for Developing and Assessing Nutrition Education Handouts. Key criteria were identified for systematic evaluation of the nutrition education handouts. The intraclass correlation coefficient for the total score of the nutrition education handouts was 0.452. Eighteen of the 25 criteria applied to the materials had greater than 80% agreement.
