I would like to take this opportunity to formally acknowledge and congratulate the recipients of the 2019 Articles of the Year. Articles published in 2019, specifically Volumes 15(1)-15(4), were considered for each of the awards. The award-winning articles were selected by members of the Journal of Forensic Nursing Editorial Board based on their innovation, significance, approach, potential impact, and overall writing.

Three articles were selected for recognition from the 2019 publishing year.

Education Article of the Year

Burton, C. W., Williams, J. R., & Anderson, J. (2019). Trauma-informed care education in baccalaureate nursing curricula in the United States: Applying the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials. Journal of Forensic Nursing, 15(4), 214-221.

Research Article of the Year

Cochran, C. B. (2019). An evidence-based approach to suicide risk assessment after sexual assault. Journal of Forensic Nursing, 15(2), 84-92.

Clinical Article of the Year

Meunier-Sham, J., Preiss, R. M., Petricone, R., Re, C., & Gillen, L. (2019). Laying the foundation for the national TeleNursing Center: Integration of the Quality-Caring Model into teleSANE practice. Journal of Forensic Nursing, 15(3), 143-151.

In addition to this published notification, award recipients would typically be acknowledged during the International Association of Forensic Nurses' International Conference on Forensic Science and Practice. Unfortunately, given the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be meeting in person this year to celebrate their achievements. Please join me in congratulating these worthy recipients.
