Article Content

This issue marks the beginning of a new feature for The Journal of Perinatal & Neonatal Nursing. Commencing with this 19:1 issue, the journal will showcase 3 new departments or columns. One column will focus on "Legal Issues and Risk Management" with Dr Laura R. Mahlmeister as the contributing editor. She will address legal issues and cases as well as risk management considerations for both perinatal and neonatal clinicians.

The "Expert Opinion" column will be shared between Dr Jackie Tillett for the perinatal section and Dr Jacqueline M. McGrath for the neonatal section. It will include both experts' opinions as well as best clinical practices in each subspecialty.

The last section will have a special prominence and will be titled "From the Desk of Dr Susan Blackburn." Dr Blackburn recently stepped down as neonatal editor and brings well-known breadth and depth of knowledge of neonatal care and maternal-neonatal physiology to the journal. Her column will encompass physiology and Web-based resources for practitioners.

We are pleased to have these 4 contributing editors join us in adding a new dimension to the "Pink Journal." We welcome their contributions and hope that the columns will be of value to our readership.
