Abstract

Evidence-based practice is becoming an important factor in the practice of physical therapy. It is important to have physical therapists comfortable in the research process to enable them to implement research findings into patient intervention. Therefore, it is important to incorporate a variety of research experiences into the physical therapy curriculum. The purpose of this article is to describe a research activity in a physical therapy course that evolved from a discussion of a case study of an older adult with a cerebrovascular accident. It is, therefore, vitally important for the physical therapy curriculum to address the problem of encouraging an improved attitude toward clinical research.
