Abstract

Chronic orofacial pain includes musculoskeletal, neuropathic, and vascular disorders. Unlike dental or other acute pains, chronic orofacial pain can in many cases stand alone as a separate pathological condition and is not a symptom accompanying other diseases. The article describes orofacial pain symptoms and mechanisms, and a relevant treatment approach.
