The production of each issue of the JANAC is dependent on numerous individuals. To produce an issue, we need authors to entrust the journal with their work. We need peer reviewers to examine constructively and critically each and every submission. We need an array of staff at the publishing company to manage production, dissemination, and marketing; generate and manage the continuing education tests; develop and disseminate press releases; help us with strategic planning; and a number of other activities.

For over a decade, Kristen Overstreet has been quietly behind the scenes ensuring that the work of the journal gets done efficiently, transparently, and with integrity. In September, Kristie notified the journal that she will be stepping down at the end of the year to focus on her role as Senior Partner of Origin Editorial, an editorial consulting and management business she cofounded in 2010.

Since June 2007, she has been the managing editor of JANAC. As a dedicated professional and leader in scientific publishing, she has helped steward the journal's path. As managing editor, she has managed over a 1,000 submissions; copyedited hundreds of title pages, tables, figures, and manuscript bodies; overseen the reviewer database; maintained and updated the journal's operational manual to ensure best practices were integrated into our work and processes; and has been instrumental in the journal's transition to our current publisher, Lippincott Wolters Kluwer.

More than that, Kristie has been a friend to the journal, its parent association, ANAC, and to many members of the editorial board and the association. Selfishly, I am sad that Kristie will be leaving JANAC. However, I am indebted to her for her patience, her gentle guidance, her wisdom, and her breadth and depth of expertise, which was profoundly helpful to me when I was appointed editor-in-chief.

On behalf of everyone at ANAC and JANAC, it is with heartfelt gratitude that I thank Kristie for her extraordinary service to JANAC over the last 14 years.
