November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Share these resources to spread awareness and helpful information for people living with diabetes.

 

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)

JDRF is a worldwide nonprofit organization that funds type 1 diabetes research. To date, they have raised $2.5 billion for disease treatment research and the development of patient resources. JDRF also advocates for government support of new research and therapies and organizes events to connect families and communities for diabetes support.

 

Diabetes Research Institute (DRI)

DRI boldy aims to go "out of business by curing this devastating disease." As one of the leading organizations to contribute to diabetes research and funding, DRI is focused on efforts to find a cure for diabetes and meaningfully improve patients' quality of life through its regular cooking events, golf tournaments, walkathons, and fundraising events.

 

Diversity in Diabetes (DiD)

Founded in 2020, DiD has been focused on raising awareness about the disparities in diabetes care in communities of color. The group provides health education and support to communities of color to help address inequalities and improve access to diabetes treatment. Programs include a virtual diabetes education program and a monthly virtual support group.

 

Children's Diabetes Foundation (CDF)

The CDF is the fundraising branch of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, which provides state-of-the-art care to children and adults with type 1 diabetes. The CDF focuses on raising diabetes awareness, providing patient support, and research funds for diabetes. It offers programs for specific demographics, including Helping Little Hands for children with diabetes, and the CDF Advocate Program and Young Professionals Group, which organize informational and volunteer activities for youths and young adults.
