Abstract
Advanced practice nurses (APNs) diagnose and treat acute conditions in children that produce outcomes of efficient, cost effective, timely, and satisfying healthcare to children, families and referring providers. Expediting care for children with acute illnesses in hospital settings by applying the knowledge and skills of nurse practitioners is a smart use of resources.
