In the January issue, "Contrasts in Long-Term Care" by Diana J. Mason should have referred to the people who participate in NewCourtland's certified nursing assistant (CNA) training program as "hotel-type workers," rather than "hotel workers." Also, it should have identified District 1199C, an affiliate of the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, as the labor union representing CNAs at NewCourtland, rather than the Service Employees International Union. In addition, CNAs at NewCourtland earn between $12 and $13 an hour to start, not $17, as mentioned in the article.
