This four hour lecture will provide a comprehensive overview of pelvic muscle retraining as it pertains to the patient with fecal incontinence and obstructive defecation disorders. Topics covered will include anatomy and physiology of the rectum and anal canal, selection of patients for pelvic muscle retraining, diagnostic procedures performed for patient selection, protocol, equipment components, and case presentations. Break out groups will allow personal interaction to discuss methods of biofeedback in a more depth, hands-on experience with volunteer patients, and concurrent treatments.
