I thank Ms Youngberg for highlighting an important fact, namely, ongoing research findings impact what is in print. Authors and readers may find components of articles are outdated before they are even published!! Wound care honey is "new" to the United States; thus, research about honey-based dressings will evolve as it did in other countries. Since practitioners in the United States now have access to honey dressings, they will desire to learn more about its use. The challenge for WOC nurses is to critically read research, share findings with colleagues and patients/families, and participate in the research process about honey dressings, as well as many other aspects of wound care. The cycle of research and publication/ presentation will enhance the science of WOC nursing, wound care in general, and the quality of patient care.

Sincerely, Barbara Pieper, PhD, RN, CWOCN, FAAN
