Clinical Practice Guidelines by the Infectious Diseases Society of America: 2018 Update on Diagnosis, Treatment, Chemoprophylaxis, and Institutional Outbreak Management of Seasonal Influenza

In the United States and globally, seasonal influenza A and B viruses are associated with significant morbidity and mortality annually. The guideline addresses new information on diagnostic testing, the use of antiviral medications, considerations for the use of antibiotics, testing for antiviral resistance, and evidence against the routine use of corticosteroids.
