Abstract

Despite the importance of sleep for maintaining health and well-being, there is a notable lack of educational curricula and training on sleep health in nursing schools and clinical settings. To ensure holistic care, it is essential for nurses to be well-prepared to assess and address sleep-related issues. This article outlines foundational information on sleep; general sleep health assessment; symptoms, risk factors, and screening measures related to obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and circadian rhythm sleep disorders; and practical strategies to promote healthy sleep.
