Lippincott NursingCenter’s CE for Charity
Lippincott NursingCenter started our annual CE for Charity campaign after the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas. We were attending a nursing conference held in Las Vegas at the time of the tragedy. We witnessed many of the nurses in attendance at the conference rush to the scene without hesitation to offer their assistance. We were so deeply touched and inspired by the nurses’ response and wanted to do something—anything—to help! Since then, we have donated over $20,000 to various organizations including the American Red Cross, the Polaris Project, the Brave of Heart fund, NAMI Frontline Wellness Initiative, and Project Hope.
In 2023, we are proud to have supported One World Medical Relief through our annual #NurseStrong program. Your purchases of our #NurseStrong2023 CE collection resulted in a $2,270 donation to One World Medical Relief. This 501(c)(3) charitable organization is made up of a team that travels to Tanzania at least twice a year to perform hundreds of surgeries. And, over the past five years, the team has developed a formal surgical training program for local healthcare providers, teaching them how to treat burns, head and neck cancers, and cleft lip and palate defects.
Lippincott NursingCenter Clinical Editor, Myrna Schnur, MSN, RN and her family accompanied the team this past August. While Myrna and her husband, Dr. David Schnur, worked in the operating rooms, their two sons brought joy and attention to post-op youngsters during their recovery and rehabilitation.
